So what do you think ? Is it fake ? The owner says it made in mexico and the mail from fender says it's made in US. If it's real, I may have struck gold. Any thoughts ?

Something isn't correct here. The serial number clearly indicates made in Mexico, so how can this be made in USA, with a Mexican serial number?

It does look like a Classic Series 60s, and not a Classic Player 60s. I think that the Classic Player has a two-point bridge. It also does not look like Sonic Blue, or any blue for that matter.

Perhaps the contact at Fender mistakenly left off the M when he entered the serial number? :?

I do remember an FSR 2004 Mexican Strat in Blizzard Pearl (your pics look like Blizzard Pearl), but I can't remember which tuners that it had. My bet is this is what you have.

At any rate, $450 seems reasonable for this guitar.

Hiya,
Looks like the consumer relations guy mis-spoke. if you look at the specs it says "SOURCE: MEXICO" the Part number begins with 013 (Mexico) and the serial number starts with Mz (Mexico 2000's)
A stern dirty look will be directed at said guy.

Cheers,
rob

If the specs are correct (no doubt), it seems that the neck that goes with those specs has been put onto a different body than that from the factory.

Hi Shimmilou,
I think you're speaking to the color......but it seems like one of those "translation is variable on computer screen"
The first two pics do look Sonic Blue to me, where the last pic (view from the back) looks almost Vintage White on my screen. Hard to say from here. (or ....what'd I miss?)

Cheers,
rob

That could be it. On my screen it looks like Blizzard Pearl, or maybe even gray/silver. :?:
