Hi guys, I was wondering if someone could help me identify this MIM Strat I was considering. The owner doesn't know too much about the guitar. He is stating that he has the guitar from a famous Romanian blues player (Ag Weinberger). It's a 2004 MIM Special Edition Strat. The owner says it has Tex Mex pickups. The serial number is: MZ3034684 I didn't get the opportunity to try it yet but I am looking forward to. I am attaching some photos of the guitar.
Please help me identifying this guitar.

P.S. Sorry about my english. I am from Romania

Very nice guitar .

In my opinion , MZ3...... is a 2003 guitar

How can you say it is a Special Edition ? Any info ?

I do not see any guitar look like this one in 2003 Fender Frontline .

In 2004 Fender Frontline the only color available is natural with Seymour Duncan pickups

I spoke on the phone with the owner and he told me about this "special edition" sticker on the back of the headstock. It can be seen in one of the photos. He said that the previous owner (the blues player) mentioned something about the colour being special and that only a few hundred guitars were made but he didn't remember all the details,

The "special edition" could just be referring to the color - it looks like a Classic '60s Strat but that isn't a standard color for them.

Email the serial number to Fender at consumerrelations@fender.com - they can tell you what it is.

It doesn't look much like Sonic Blue to me.

Looks like a Classic Series 60s, but if I Remember correctly those were not loaded with texas special pickups....
However it's stated its made in Mexico in those specs.
Might be a Fender Special Run, those come in special colours.

Without knowing your market, I would say "yes" if the guitar has the features you want. If still stock, it has Texas Specials which are twice the price of Tex Mex (both pups are actually excellent, in my book). If you like it, get it.
