currently it is stock, pickups are great, however i have been really
turned on by the custom 69 pickups, i love the tone.

at the same time, i have been researching the tones of the area pus.
that is dimarzio area, n/m/b area 58/58/61 and 67/67/61 <<---these
are noiseless.

does anyone have either the cs 69, or the area config.
and how do you rate them?

Might try some of the Lace sensors. I have the hot gold set in one of mine.
Very snappy full sound. (if the description made any sense). But long story short I like them. Peace. J.J.B.

I have the area 58 and area 61 (bridge) combination in my strat. I absolutely love them. They have the most single-coil sound of any hum-canceling pickups I have tried. They also use the standard 250k pots unlike some of the hum-caceling pickups.
The area 67 may be closer to the cs 69 in sound, but all of them can create a wide array of tones based on how close they are to the strings.

Unless you bought your guitar as investment only, forget it's future value, and make it yours. If your really concerned, put the old pickups in a drawer somewhere to sell along with the guitar if that ever happens.

+1

... And or you could just reinstall the orginal pickups back in the guitar before you sell it, if you ever do...
