I want to get the sounds of zeppelin, sabbath, and other hard rock bands out of my strat. It is a highway one SSS. I also have a mim SSS. I am willing to do modifications to the mim. Any suggestions on what i can do.

I also want to get a sparkling ringing clean tone that so many people associate with stratocasters. What should i set my eq knobs on amp to.

That's very much dependent on what amp you have, and individual properties of your guitar.

Experiment.

Agreed,
many seem to forget about the amp. As far as tone and sound goes, the amp is just as important if not more important then the guitar.
Unfortunetly, answering your question somewhat depends on your gear.
That bell like tone you want is isn't to hard to find (especially with fender amps).
Let us know what your using!

Don't forget about adding a pedal either. I use a digital programable pedal wiith a fairly standard cheap amp and it allows me to get a wide range of sounds as well as mimicing some classic amps like Blackface or Marshall Stacks.

It also does a good job of turning a single coil into a humbucking sound.

Another idea is that I have Texas Special pu's in my strat and since I had them installed for blues reasons a couple weeks ago I have also realized they are fantastic classic rock pu's.

The very best amp in the Fender lineup for both ultra clean tube amp sounds and classic rock is the Cyber Twin and the CT SE

I have yet to find another amp with such range of tones and possibilities.

I swear by mine. The 66 Super, the 58 Deluxe in particular just blow me away. It's a great amp. I'd have to spend tens of thousands to get all those different tones. It is a bit pricey, but once you've got it you're a happy camper.
