So I think this is an official Firestorm Strat Ultra. Just the Body and pickguard, but I am only using the Body for this build. After I had already bought this after seeing the listing on eBay I had stumbled across the threads about fakes. So after reading them all I think this is the real deal. Was originally on sale in Novemeber as a complete guitar, the pattern and Nicks Match that as well as the advertised Serial Number which is N993847

What I wanted was an Alder Body to build exactly the way I built my last Strat, only with a unique finish. Using the same Pickups etc on my Ash Players Deluxe, I realized that I really love the extra Midrange that the Alder brings, the Ash just isn't gonna cut it for me.

After building my 1st Strat with Fender American / Deluxe Parts I converted from a Les Paul Player to a 99% of the time Strat Player.

Would appreciate input from you experts here about if this is truly a Firestorm Body? Don't care as long as it's Alder because it looks great in my opinion and fits my Build Desires.

So for what my Build is:
Fender Deluxe 2014 Modern C Compound Rosewood
1990 Firestorm Alder Body (From What SN Decoders say)
Black HSH Pickguard
Fender American Standard Tremolo Solid Saddles
Bridge Dimarzio Breed (DP166)
Middle Dimarzio Evolution (ISCV2)
Neck Dimarzio Steve's Special (DP161) (Not a Vai Pickup)
Trim is Chrome, pickups Black.

Pictures - I'll update when it's finished.

Excellent build you did mate but I'm afraid your post could not be welcomed because of a trolling paranoia regarding the firestorm finish.

I'll report the post to the admins, sorry for the troubles.

I'm not selling this, so why would it need to be shut down? Just wondering, Trolls that bad here?

My apologies for the troubles, but I would be assured you're not the infamous troll "Greenheart" who changes his user ID to annoy our venerable Strat Plus guru Jeff Xhefri Reich with his obsession for the firestorm guitars.

At least you're welcome to the Fender community.

The white Strat with the HSH pickups is a pure beauty in terms of features and versatility. Dome Tele knobs make for a different feel. This leds me supposing you're gonna use the same pickup and hardware configuration in the custom firestorm partscaster.

Once the new guitar is completed post a video from the two puppies in action. :)

Let me say welcome Kruegmeister, but why did it take 2 1/2 years for you to post anything? :)

I don't recall anyone calling out Xhefri when he posted in this regard, though I'm sure we all thought, "Here we go again" at first. No disrespect intended.

It looks like an authentic firestorm body, IMHO. Anybody have an opinion on that?

I'd like to see the build thread too.

Shouldn't there be some sign of trollfoolery to trigger pulling a post?

Welcome Kruegmiester,

I am also interested in your build, and these finishes in general. I look forward to the result.
I believe the "Firestorm" troll issue has been partly resolved. One result of all the controversy was that we all had a good look at a lot of these finishes, real and fake. For what it's worth yours looks genuine to me.
Let the build continue and the paranoia end.

Goodonya ...Mark.

I signed up when I registered my first Strat, just never posted here. I decided to post my Build because it looked like there was a decent amount of knowledge on this board about the firestorms. I posted at Strat-Talk as well because that's the other site that seemed to have some knowledge on the subject.

I will be using the identical Knobs and Pickups as the White one, except the pickups will be Black on this one.

I should be getting my Pickguard and Electronics, etc Today if USPS doesn't fail me again... Really hoping my Neck which should be the Final Piece to the Puzzle arrives before New Years Eve because I'd really like to have it done for our New Years Eve Gig. Hopefully should be loading some Progress Pics Tonight.

Thanks for the info BTW

Welcome to being an "Active" member of the forum. Yeah, to say we had a troll problem with this finish is putting it mildly. Anyhow, good looking guitar builds. Looking forward to the Firestorm finish build. Hope it gets all done for that New Years Gig.

T2

Looking good!
What pickups have you used?
I guessed DiMarzio for the 'buckers, just by appearance.
Have you thought of changing the pickup springs out for the rubber tubing Fender often uses?

What value potentiometers have you used?

Xhefri's Guitars were some of my inspiration for this current build. It was his post on Firestorm and another Red/Black Flame Top on his site that led me to my colors.

250k CTS Pots.
Bridge Dimarzio Breed (DP166)
Middle Dimarzio Evolution (ISCV2)
Neck Dimarzio Steve's Special (DP161) (Not a Vai Pickup BTW)
Pickups were not picked because of Vai, I picked them based on the Output and EQ specs listed on the DiMarzio Website.

Just had a look on the DiMarzio site - I wonder who the Steve referred to is?
My first thought was Steve Morse, but he has signature pickups.
