Has anyone replaced the pickups on a MIM Strat? I have a HSS Strat and I noticed the Humbucker has 2 mounting screws on the top. All the replacement Humbucker pickups Ive seen have one screw. Any ideas?

Thanks

One screw??? Not sure exactly what your talking about. All humbuckers have two mounting screws that hold them to the pickup ring, or in Fenders case, the pickguard.

I guess i should have said 3 mounting screws. 2 at the top of the pickup and one on the bottom. I was just referring to the 2 at the top. All the replacement pickups Im seeing have only one at the top and one at the bottom.

Oh, ok, I'm not too familiar with the HSS strats or any of Fenders humbuckers, so I have no idea what's under that pickguard. I just assumed it would be the same as any other humbucker.

I have no desire for one. But if I had an HSS strat and wanted to replace the humbucker. I would definetly put a Gibson 57 classic in that spot. In my opinion it's the best all-around humbucker and Gibson does know their humbuckers. Plus it would be for the sound that I'd be after.

Try Seymour Duncan. THeir Trembuckers are F-spaced versions of their regular buckers and the mounting legs have THREE holes - two for those guards like yours that require 2 on one side. Go to seymourduncan.com, HUmbuckrs, choose a trembucker & click the "see" option.

I like Texas Specials, CS69s, Lace Golds and love the Duncan JB for a bridge bucker.
