I have a Fender Stratocaster and I would like to know more about it. I have no idea exactly how old it is or even what type it is. The serial Number is 5185620. If anyone knows anything at all and I do have pictures of the guitar. Oh and it does say "Made in the U.S.A." Thanks

Is there a letter in front of that number or is perhaps the 5 an "S"?

You can send the number to Fender and they might be able to tell you a little bit about it. I tried it and it worked for me.

The guitardaterproject doesn't recognize it. Evidently you've left some of that number out. Like someone else says it's probably a letter.

That certainly looks like a american series neck but that neck plate does not match up. Was this purchased used? Is it possible somebody put a american neck on a squire body? That neck plate would match up to a squire. I think you need to take the pickguard off and see what the body says.
