Jesuscares, can you tell me if your lower tone control works at all? I have tone control in four switch positions, all are controlled by the upper tone control. I have no tone control for the bridge pup by itself, and the lower tone control is not working at all except as the pull switch for the two voiceings, but not as a tone control.
I'd like to know if yours is the same?
I tried adding the jumper between the 3rd and 4th lugs, I only had tone on the neck and neck/mid positions. I then tried the jumper between the 2nd and 3rd lug, and that got me to where I'm at with all four positions being controlled by the upper tone pot, but no tone control for the bridge position. I don't want to keep playing around with it, so I'm going to email Sigler and see if they can tell me what mod I need to do to get the bridge and the lower tone pot working.

I'll be surprised if Sigler knows how to do this because so many strats come with no tone control on the bridge pickup. Since they apparently do a lot of mods there, they might know. Then again maybe someone else does the mod.

I think that if you trace the pickup wires from the switch that you should be able to see where the bridge wire connects. I would think that is where the jumper wire will attach and then to where the middle pickup comes into the switch. I haven't done this in a while so I might be wrong on this. I have a new strat that I need to do it to but it should be straight forward, like in the diagram you posted.

Good luck with this. I hope you get that bridge tone control to work.

If that's the way things are supposed to be,I'm ok with it.I really don't like it when I get things below the standards its supposed to be.
As for the pickups the sound is probably the best I've played on.Sweet tone & sweet sustain.Totally noiseless & playing with the volume knob has a response better than any tube amp response.overall,to me this is a wow !

Is your lower tone control working, or just your upper? Only my upper is working, I'm wondering if yours is the same.

Then the response with the Amp EQ/Gain/Reverb controls must be pretty durn good. :)

Drew, is tone 2 knob (the lowest) maybe just a hidden push/pull switch for the built-in Effect?

Does the tone 1 knob affect all 3 pickups?

You can draw the conclusions as well as anyone, be nice if Fish Man paid some attention...or they might be wondering exactly what is wrong :!:

Working off the stock Fishman schematic, I added a jumper between the second and third lug, connecting the two tone pots. Now the upper tone control works with the neck, neck/mid, mid, mid/bridge. There is no tone control for the bridge and my lower tone control has no function except as a pull switch for the two voicings. If I could get the lower tone control working with the bridge pup, I'd be happy. I emailed both Sigler and Fishman. I hope one of them can give me a way to accomplish this.

Both the tone controls are working on certain pickups.I will let you know the corresponding pickups. The tone knob at the farthest does not work with the bridge pickup though. Sigler says : "The middle tone is supposed to control the neck pickup and the bottom tone is supposed to control the middle pickup according to the wiring diagram." I presume,as mentioned in this forum, that the wiring is more an old fashioned mexican type set up.Sigler has sent a wiring diagram to make changes with the tone settings .I don;t want to fool with anymore soldering though, for now.Any of you guys living in Maryland area, then I might bring my guitar to you . :) .This has been an interesting thread although I didn't expect it to go this far.God bless Sigler & Fishman !

Well, I'm not afraid to "F" things up, I do it all the time. I may have a nonfunctioning lower tone pot. Sigler advised me on how to check it, and I will do that one night this week when I can arrange to get out of the office a little early. So, I might have more drama before this is all over. I'm pretty sure in the end, I'll still like these pickups. It's been an unfortunate bit of circumstance so far though.

I wanted to post the results of my recent experimenting. I don't have a bad pot. Basically you can assign either tone control to which ever pickup you want, but you can't use a jumper to have that pot control a second pickup. Since a Strat only has two tone pots, that means that you can have tone control on two pickups but not all three. I now have my upper pot controlling the neck, and the lower pot controlling the bridge. This gives me some control in the 2 and 4 position, but no tone control on the mid position. Luckily the mid pickup sounds pretty good, so I don't think it will be a big issue. Jimmy at Sigler told me just what I've just posted, but I needed to find out for myself. So I've spent the last few nights putting the pickguard on and off, and moving jumpers and leads. Every time I try to add a jumper to get tone control on the third pickup, the lower pot goes haywire. As soon as I remove the jumper, the pot is back to normal. So that's it, not perfect, but the Fishman Fluence pickups still sound good and that's the most important aspect.

Hey Drew, sounds like you've worked it out. Glad you're enjoying the Fluences.

Did you end up putting the .22 (not .022) cap in? Like it?

I did put in the .22mf cap, the tone pots didn't function with the .022mf's. I can't say I hear any difference, only that the tone pots work. I was using this guitar for some high gain songs, but I did the show and I haven't tested it with those settings yet, so I can't say that it works any better or worse with the new caps. At normal amp settings it sounds the same. One of the nice things I like about the Fluence pups is they are very smooth and articulate with high gain.
