Just installed the Sigler pickguard.Seems to be super clean & I love the sustain. However the tone knobs don't seem to work on some of the pickup configurations. On the ones it works the change is very subtle. Can someone give me the pickup configuration & tone knob charting.
Also, out of the 11 holes 4 of them are out of alignment that I am unable to use the screws on them.Is this normal with Sigler pickguards. My first experience with this & doesn't seem to be very rewarding.
The pickups sound great compared to my SCNs on this Am DX.

Jesus; sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, but I've had a busy weekend. I used my Am Dlx with the Fluence pups for two shows this weekend. The guitar sounded great and a friend who is an excellent guitarist said it was the best tone he's heard from me.
But this evening I sat down with the guitar into a clean channel and checked the tone controls and there is virtually no change in tone from the controls. So, I'll be curious as to what you hear from Sigler about this. I have no desire to return these, but I would like to find out if there is a different wiring that would get some reaction out of these tone controls, or if these pups are unitone or some thing.

Hmm.Thanks for this valid information.I remember finding a subtle change on 1 of the pickup configuration only, but it was hard to really tell.Glad to know about the feedback on your gig. This pickup sounds so very rich from what I tested with just one string on the guitar.(I have not been successful in aligning the pick guard, as 4 screws are out of alignment.)Either way I would have to exchange the pick guard .It took me a lot of time to get it soldered & now this.Regarding the tone I think it is best to check with Fishman.I am going to email them.I am sure this would not be a unitone pickup after all the efforts they put in.This is definitely something to explore though.

One answer would be tone pots that are the wrong resistance.

Check to see that Sigler used 25K pots rather than standard strat 250K.

Here's the wiring diagram:

and the installation guides:

Now that's a bummer. :!: Their adverts certainly do not contain a disclaimer that the complete circuitry has to be replaced. :?

Thanks for the links Danagos, I had seen the diagram before. That's what had me add the blue wire to a mini toggle switch, supposedly to get a bright/less bright option. There is no discernible difference with that switch. I hope when the tone problem gets worked out, that switch will provide some variety also.
I can't find my receipt that showed what components they installed on the pick guard. I emailed them, so I'm going to wait till I hear back before pulling the pick guard again.
Jeasuscares, that's pretty weird about your screw hole positions. Mine fit perfect, and the battery pack also fit perfect on the rear trem cover. I'm sure you'll get it worked out. Look at this as a real learning experience. Three years ago I didn't do much to my guitars except change the strings. Now I solder in new pickups, and crank on truss rods with abandon! :D

I haven't heard from Sigler yet, but I checked a couple of photos that I took as I was installing the new pick guard. It definitely has the Fishman pots, so that shouldn't be an issue. The wiring looks identical to the schematic. My photo doesn't show clearly the ground that is supposed to be from the lower tone pot switch. I'll have to pull the pick guard to check if it is there. If not, that could be the culprit and an easy fix.
I had such heavy presets for this weekends set, that I didn't notice the tone pots not working. It's exciting to think I can dial these pups in even better.

Just got a reply from Fishman :

The tone controls are a high frequency roll off. If you are not noticing a change I would think either the pot is defective or there could be a problem with the wiring. I might suggest contacting Sigler or we could get the pickups back here for testing. Let me know if you'd like to send them in.

Thanks, Derek

If you check these yourself...be sure to compare each and every connection from the diagram vs your wiring.

One missed or badly soldered connection could affect your tone (or the whole magilla).

Make SURE the grounds are all connected, none of them are superfluous...and the Jack is wired correctly.

Best of luck and please report back on those Pups.

- Dan

Do you have a part number or link to the Tremolo Cavity Cover? I'm unable to find it.My battery is bumping out so I guess I need 1.Thanks.

I don't think this will solve your problem unless you leave the hatch cover off. It's still flat to the back of your guitar.

OK, White Trem Cover w/Access Panel

I pulled the pick guard, triple checked that all of the wiring was per schematic. There was a small jumper on the voicing switch that connects two posts to ground, that was not on my pick guard. I installed the jumper. No difference. There is no tone variation with either tone control, in either voicing, in any of the switch positions. I'm kind of bummed because as much as I like the sound of these pickups, I feel that I'm missing lots of tone options.
I didn't hear back from Sigler today. I'm a little surprised, as their communication has been very good. I assume they don't have a quick answer for me. I will try them again tomorrow, and may contact Fishman direct. I know I need to work through Sigler, but I have a feeling that Fishman is going to have to come up with the answer to our problem.

I heard from Jimmy Darr of Sigler today, who asked me to send pics of the wiring. He is also checking on this thread & is well aware of the situation and is working on it.I understand they are also communicating with Fishman on these issues & would get this resolved pretty soon. Here's what he emailed me:

The pickups ship from the factory with all the pots and stuff. We wire up exactly what we get from Fishman to their exact diagram. If something is wrong then it’s going to be either their diagram or their components.
I’m just as curious to see how this all works out. New products = new problems.

I got an email response from Sigler, only saying that they are looking into it and will get back to me. I kind of feel like I may be doing beta testing for Fishman.
I'm still kind of hoping for an easy fix of some kind. I really don't want to have to send this pickguard back. I guess I could put the N3's back in. They served me well for three years.
