The battery clip is available at radio shack in packs of 6 or so...the Tremolo Cavity Cover is from AXcessories.com

Do we need to replace the tremolo cavity cover?

No...your Strat cover will fit over the battery...nice & tight...I just liked the easy access

I've gotten used to unplugging the guitar when not playing...so the battery lasts

I tried to fit the battery in the control cavity...not possible with the PCB in there as well

You may have more room in yours...mine has vintage specs

That, my friend, is genius!

Thank you for the cudos. I used that concept to store the battery in a '97 AmStd when I dropped an EMG Gilmour pickguard into the guitar. That was about 13-14 years ago. We've also discussed this option on other Forum threads when dealing questions of stowing the battery for active circuits. I original wanted to route the trem cavity the way a Clapton was, but the '97 still retained the 'swimming pool route' which contraindicated my idea. In addition, I stopped the trem with a wood block a la the Clapton setup and set the claw up against the body. Trem function is not a consideration. All this aside, I defer to your recognition of Dan's genius and concur.

ZZDoc is absolutely correct in all but one assertion, that of my mental capacities.

I'm not even very smart, but I can be determined.

I should have stated that batteries have been stored in the Trem Cavity for quite awhile now.

Shoot, Doc may have been the originator of the idea!

Can't take credit for that. The suggestion came from a tech when we determined that the trem cavity wall in that guitar could not be routed to accept a 9V battery. He suggested pulling the center spring in that the trem system was going to be stopped.

Did you have to drill a hole to get the battery wire into the tremolo cavity?

No drilling required...same hole the trem ground wire comes through.

The only modification I had to make was to "waller" my Jack cavity just enough for a stereo (3 lug) Jack to fit freely.

My body had vintage specs...that may not be necessary for you.

Yeah,I thought of drilling a large enough hole to get the stereo jack to pass through, but then decided to desolder & resolder from the other side.Working on it right now.The battery fits in the back panel with a slight bump on the scratch board/lid behind.I now see why you needed a cavity lid.

Just installed the Sigler pickguard.Seems to be super clean & I love the sustain. However the tone knobs don't seem to work on some of the pickup configurations. On the ones it works the change is very subtle. Can someone give me the pickup configuration & tone knob charting.
Also, out of the 11 holes 4 of them are out of alignment that I am unable to use the screws on them.Is this normal with Sigler pickguards. My first experience with this & doesn't seem to be very rewarding.
The pickups sound great compared to my SCNs on this Am DX.

No idea what your wiring diagram would look like, sorry.

Sounds like you should carefully double check any wiring YOU connected.

Sigler's work has a 99.9% probability of being correct. They do a lot of it.

You may have a Squier body, a Fender pickguard won't have the same hole pattern. Time to drill some new screw holes, not a big job and it should look fine when you're done. :D

I had to do the same thing to my jack cavity, plus I removed the locking washer to move the jack a little more.

I installed it on an American Deluxe Ash Strat that plays like a dream! I hope to hear from Sigler. The only mistake I could have done while installing is mismatching the black/white wires on the output jack while soldering. However the sound is perfect except that the tone knobs don't make a difference when used.I wonder if this is an issue with the Fluence pickups. I'm amazed with the sustain & richness of sound though.

Quite true. The output jack seems to be getting in the way.Is this type of output used by all active pickups.I wonder if Fender makes similar output jacks.

Any requirement for stereo or electrical ground requires the 3rd lug.

Fender has had a lot of models requiring them, most famously the Clapton signature with Mid-Boost.

Most likely an outside mfg, like CTS pots & Switchcraft 3 & 5 way switches.

It's pretty easy to make room in the soft wood of the Jack cavity. I used a rotary tool.

Careful not to mar the finish! :D

Jesus; sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, but I've had a busy weekend. I used my Am Dlx with the Fluence pups for two shows this weekend. The guitar sounded great and a friend who is an excellent guitarist said it was the best tone he's heard from me.
But this evening I sat down with the guitar into a clean channel and checked the tone controls and there is virtually no change in tone from the controls. So, I'll be curious as to what you hear from Sigler about this. I have no desire to return these, but I would like to find out if there is a different wiring that would get some reaction out of these tone controls, or if these pups are unitone or some thing.
