I ordered a loaded pickguard from Sigler Music today. I'm getting a set of the new Fishman Fluence pups. Sigler is doing a mod for me without charging any extra. They seem to be pretty easy to work with. I'll let you know how the pickguard and the pups are when they arrive.
I'm taking a real leap of faith by trying the Fluence pups, but you never know, they might sound great. Probably not for the purist, but I'm not one of them. :D

They are a good source. I've recommended them often in these pages.

It's a family business and they're good people, I ordered a set of DiMarzio Area Pups recently, the price was competitive, fast shipping and the level of service was above and beyond.

They offer some interesting ideas built on MIM Strat platforms. Can't abide those 'modern "C" necks' though.

Well, they assembled and shipped a pickguard with a custom mod in less than 24 hours. I'm stoked.
Doc, you need to open your mind, or maybe your palm. :) If you want to try my new Fluence pickups, let me know. I'll charge the battery for you.:D

Ordered Wednesday, delivered to L.A. from Arkansas, on Saturday. That's with a custom mod. Unbelievable.

I got my Fishman fluence pickgaurd for my Fender deluxe a while back from Sigler (with tortoise shell) .I am yet to install it though.Mine came with the female 1/4 inch input socket soldered on it.Is there a way to install it along with the input socket without it having to be soldered onto the original socket that comes to the guitar. This means less soldering.

Not on a Strat with a separate route hole. I think they attach the wires so that you see where they are supposed to go. It's a quick job to soften the solder and remove the wires. It takes a bit of maneuvering to get the input jack into it's hole so that the cable fully engages, because of the extra finger that is on it for the battery connection. Seriously though, doing the solder work is not that much trouble and it's a great diy project that every guitar owner should do. On the other hand a luthier would probably install the pickguard and input jack for you pretty cheap.
I installed my Fishman Fluence pick guard and used the guitar for band practice the other night. I'm holding off doing a review of the pickups because at first I thought they were too similar to my Fat 50's, which is good but I wanted something different. Now, I'm realizing that every time I plug in the guitar, I'm starting to notice little differences. Overall they sound really good, and have a lot of sustain. As long as you hold the note the suckers keep giving. And they are quiet. There is no loss of volume on the 2 and 4 settings. Really, nothing bad to report at this time.

Glad to know about the sustain. Does your's work with a 9 volt battery? If so where do you put the battery.I asked them to make a longer battery cable so I can tape it up to the guitar's back panel near the springs.Wonder if that would work.

I got the optional battery built into a Strat back panel. I didn't run the wire for the disposable battery, so I'm not sure about the length of the wires. I don't see any reason that it wouldn't work just as Danagos shows.
