Hi,

I'm afraid I'm just one more person who should have visited this forum before purchasing... My hypothesis is that the neck is real and the rest scrap yet since this is my first guitar, I'll trust you guys. Here are the pics (and thanks for your help) : Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image

Looks like a 2002-2003 MIM standard in Midnight Wine, what makes you think its fake? Nothing looks out of the ordinary to me.

Agree with Yogi...except the tuners look to have been replaced.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the fast answers! It's actually the back that made me a little worried: there's nothing engraved on the chromed plate and I thought the white one looked "out of place". Being brand new, I have nothing to compare it with...

At some point yes.
The current tuners are correct, and the same as fitted when the guitar was new.

Yeah, that definitely looks like the real deal to me. The neck plate often doesn't have anything engraved and other times they are replaced for various reasons.

A plain neck plate is correct for an MIM Standard; outside of the occasional special model (like an anniversary model or something similar) they don't have any engraving.

I don't see anything unusual about this one - other than the already mentioned tuners (it evidently had other tuners on it at some point but it once again has the stock tuners on it now).

Hi,
The serial number comes back correctly for what the pictures show:
Fender model 013-4602-575 FENDER STD STRAT MN MDW completed 2/20/2003 and shipped to a dealership in Canada shortly thereafter.

All the best,
rob

Obviously, someone, at some point, had locking tuners on there...and when they decided to sell the guitar, put the originals back on. Evident by the drilled holes at the bottom right corner of each tuner. No biggie!

Nice ride, so enjoy! (always loved the Midnight Wine)
