Hello to all who may be reading this. This is my first post on this forum as I am a proud new owner of an American Special Strat (brand new). :D

The only issue I have so far is that when I went to screw in the tremolo arm, it seems that it does not align correctly and will not fit. I'm not applying much force as I don't want to strip the threads and mess something up. Is this a common issue? Any help? :?

(P.S. I'm a bit of a noob, so don't crucify me)

Hi nhallman103,

I wouldn't say common, but it does happen. Sometimes the hole in the plate isn't quite aligned with the hole in the block. Also, sometimes, the wrong bar comes with a new guitar, depending if the accessory package is the correct one for the guitar. If you are sure that you have the correct arm, put a little downward pressure on the arm while screwing in. Worst case scenario, you might have to loosen the screws that hold the block to the plate, screw in the arm, then re-tighten the screws. This would involve removing the strings, and loosening the saddle screws in order to move the saddles to access the block screws.

P.S.
You could post a picture or few.

Yeah it looks like an alignment issue. Guess I won't be using the trem on this bad boy for a little while :(

That is a beauty! 8)

If it's any consolation, I don't use the bars on any of my Strats, just use the heel of my hand for some light vibrato action.

Welcome to the forum and that is a nice looking guitar. I say, if something does not work proper on a new purchase, bring it back to the store and ask them to fit it in, and make the adjustment needed so you can remove it and add it as needed

There's something about your guitar that seems very familiar to me. I can't quite put my finger on it.

She's a beauty, enjoy!
