Was searching for a new guitar, and came across this strat. I'm from holland so the website is in dutch but the description translates to: Fender with case and cables
Nice high gloss wood finish with seymour duncan pickups. You get the amp too.

Hi marijntenberge,

Looks like a "Light Ash Strat", made in Korea. Nice guitar! With amp and case, seems like a reasonable price. 8)

+1

Beautiful guitar
Abalone dot inlays are something you don't see much of anymore.

Yep Korean strat with the distinctive "Fender" only no "stratocaster" headstock decal.

I and a few others here have Korean strats. Quite good guitars, that one has a lovely gloss wood look to it.

.. Al

Yes definitely real, made with the blessing of Fender. If you can play before buying so much the better, if you can't then it's a case of deciding whether to take the chance on it being a "good un"

Good luck whatever you decide.

I know quite a few people say that this a ligit, but I'm not convinced. There appears to be a mixture of high-end and low-end parts. Any serial numbers? Outside of the no-caster from the '50s (and it's future CS reissues), I have known Fender to sell guitars with just their name.

I would need to see pictures of the neck plate, side photos of the body contours and the pickup routs.

Also model the owner say this guitar is? Lastly, if a Korean made guitar it would say, "Made in Korea" somewhere on it.

Whatever model the model, I would try and find examples of other online.

Until I see more proof, I'm going with parts-o-caster. It may be a very good parts-o-caster. If you like, and don't care that it's a parts-o-caster, then I say, "Go for it."

The serial number and the "Made In Korea" would be in the back of the headstock.
Here's some internet references

At the time when those sold for €499 they were probably the best value for the money Fenders, IMHO.

Yes - it's an early years version of the "Lite Ash Stratocaster"; at some point before they changed these from made in Korea to made in Indonesia they changed from that odd headstock decal to a more "standard" Fender headstock decal.

I think the best way to put it is that this is a legit Fender that looks like a fake.
