John.bohn...damn nice photos of some purty geetars. I would love a nice surf green 50's classic...another one on my keep and eye out for list!

Thanks, T2Stratman.

I traded a Surf Green Classic 50s for my 2013 special run Surf Green American Standard. It was a tough choice but the Fat 50s pickups and the darker, almost Sea Foam Green finish were impossible to resist.

Yes I sold it I never quite liked it after I put the Floyd in it just lost so much of the tone I loved about that guitar.
It went from my number one when it was stock to never getting played when it was modded.
Im in a band now that does a Ted Nugent Tribute where I play all Les Pauls and a Classic Rock cover band. Our Originals are Southern Rock but I just didnt use it anymore.

I really kept sinking money into it and it just never worked out for me.

This was it only changed the pickguard to a Dimarzio loaded lonestar.

This is the final product as I sold it.

Lonestar pickguards are HSS-configured.

Image

The pickguard is an HH-configured «Big Apple» type with a Pearly Gates Plus in the Bridge and a '59 in the Neck.

No The first picture with the pearl white was a lonestar pickguard

That black dual humbucker floydrose pickguard is a Warmoth Custom.

Good one Donny, what a lovely couple...dig the pickguards, adds some distinction.
And the best of both, maple and rosewood.

Nice looking 50th Anniversary Strats, guys. I have always had a thing for Black Strats too, so you hit two of my favorites, blues bondsman.

I also can't resist Strats with the classic car finish colors. Surf/Sea Foam Green and Sonic Blue always get me. :)

John

GREAT color combo...... :)

Thanks, Lenny. I'm still looking for the right Fiesta or Dakota Red or a Shell Pink to complete the trifecta.

It never ends.

Here's my MIM FSR Strat that I picked up second-hand yesterday. It looks gorgeous, and sounds completely different to my black '93 MIM strat. Not sure which pickups I want for the black one, but it really nees an upgrade now that I've played the FSR:
