I do not like the PU selector switch. I use neck and mid but quite often will knock the switch down to just mid.

Personally, I love volume knobs on guitars as a way to vary the guitar output (fades or Leifson type swells).

But, I have to agree with you on the Fender Stratocaster. It is too close to the strings. For my style of playing, where my pick hand tends to be near the bridge, it gets in the way. But it is convenient for swells and fades using your pinky. To bad you can't push it out of your way and bring it back when needed like the tremolo bar. :)

It's also very handy with a tube amp. Helps you get a nice crunch that cleans up nice when you lower your volume a tad.

I agree, it's to close to the string but I have arrange with that.
So it's not a problem for me.

I've never had any problem with the volume knob getting in my way. And I like the idea of being able to adjust my volume.

For a while I had a Tele knob that I had for my volume knob on mt 72 Strat. It was easier to do swells. I put the original back when I got a volume pedal.

A volume pedal? Haven't seen one before. My guess is that you can go up and down with the volume, using your foot. Do you set your guitar volume on 10, then use the pedal from there?

coudn't you wire the 5-way switch backwards so the neck pick up would be selected when the switch is in the generic bridge position?..and sorry but didn't know how u guys get the quote box thing that i see all the time..so ihad to improvise

I might have to take a look at one. I have a use for something like that.
