Welcome to the Forum.

Sound like the problem is not in the guitar but in the settings of the BOSS GT-5

Try the guitar in an amp with no effects. Still got the problem? It lies with the guitar. No probs? It's the FX.

So. If it's the FX, try the GT5 on its own. Still got the problem? Try different patches. Is the problem only there when you use the Turbo OD patch? Then it is the settings within that patch that are causing the problem.

Assuming it is one of the factory set patches, try turning the levels of all the effect modules down a bit. A common feature of most multi-FX is they way over-cook the settings, cos they think it sounds good to novice players. Especially, try turning the noise suppressor level down to about 5.

Try all that and let us know how you get on.

Cheers
