Do you have a picture and does it have humbuckers or single coils?

Hey Cory I’m sorry I have to go until tomorrow but take a look at this site this is from Wiki. A friend of mine had one years ago and I begged him to sell it to me to no avail. If this is the same guitar then you may have a nice find…depending on the price you paid

aaahhhh. I hope not. The original starcaster may not be the best made guitar but it sure is enough of a rarity that I would love to have one. Especially giving my past love for semi hollow guitars

Cory, the Starcaster is similar to the Squier in that it is a sort of entry level model of Fender's. they make them in full size and miniature versions, and so far I've only seen them sold at Hastings.

Wikipedia:
While Fender has found a significant market for period-correct (and sometimes artificially "aged") reissues of some of its classic instruments (from the mainstay Telecaster, Stratocaster, and basses through lesser-known models such as the Mustang and 12-string Stratocaster), the company has never created a Starcaster reissue, nor an updated version of the model. There was evidence that at one point Fender were toying with the idea of Starcaster basses, though they possibly were not going to be marketed as Starcasters. The Starcaster name was, however, recently revived for a range of "value-priced" Starcaster by Fender guitars and drums unrelated to the Starcaster of the 70's.

Hey no problem with that .. I got a little excited when I thought it was the Fender starcaster not the Starcaster by Fender. And Cory I hope it turns out to be a good starter guitar. We all start some where. Do keep in mind that although it may not be top of the line it will give you a good platform to build on and as your knowledge of the guitar grows so will your understanding of your needs when it comes time to upgrade and remember Fender is a great guitar company to continually upgrade through
