Recently i posted about the Japanese Fender from ca.80's, which i can play, in addition to my own MIJ and a LP. I started "playing" with the height of pickups on that newcomer and amp settings to change its rather non-descriptive character and i can see how these two MIJ strats are so vastly different from each other. It's great fun fooling around with the "full-on tremolo" and shredding like a maniac, aimlessly hahaha then pick up my own strat and endulge in sliding that silky smooth and perfectly fitting neck and pluck those mellow crying notes.
for weeks i had almost exclusively been playing a LP Custom which, many a times in my opinion, eclipses the strat in feel in hands, sex-appeal, presence (the tone!) and application(s). However, when i tried to make sense out of that other MIJ strat, i then put away the Paul and concentrated on strat playing, my own strat is again giving me a lot of pleasure and it, again, feels a perfect guitar.
I've been playing guitar for almost 10 years now and only until this year i own two guitars, and i find it a fun and stimulating experience to have those tidal waves of excitement about various guitars. I guess thats the whole bug behind owning several guitars...

....and just the other day my landlord dag out his old no-name telecaster which looks like it had at least 40 years of use. It looks beautifully battered, worn out and faded. I have never had a chance to really sit down and play a telecaster, and was a quite excited to plug it in. And MAN the sound is awesome! nice deep and resonant vibe :) rust and oxidation everywhere and 3rd switch position is kaput. Me likey!

Sounds like you might be adding a tele to your arsenal some time soon. :D

I feel the same way, whenever I spend too much time away from one of my guitars It gives me a new appreciation the minute I plug it in and start playing. Particularly when I go from Strat to les paul or vise versa.
