I was a little confused when this thread started as there was no reference point. There was an Icestorm body on eBay recently and it is a refinish as there was NEVER an Icestorm. I was duped, remember?  The guitar shown later in this thread, that is the Firestorm finish, is the real deal. I know the guy and have picts of this guitar on my laptop. It is not a Rod re-painted-fake-ola (formerly 10starguitars) who is no longer on eBay - at least by that name. Our expert, "retired" should be able to tell if it is real or not. Your thoughts "Retired"?

I found on Plus and Ultra Fender advertising that these came with Jumbo Frets. They always seemed more like medium-jumbo, but I am no expert on frets, only have the Fender brochure!

Wonder why his posts are still there? Saw they were deleted on another thread. Been out of the country so a bit disconnected from the Forum. Never a dull moment here! :?

Due to paranoia, he was reported in the other thread and his post with the ebay link deleted. Ironically, a Firestorm Strat on ebay is the basis of THIS whole thread

EDIT- Xhefri, this is the Strat mentioned in the first post. It's now been relisted for the second time. It has not met the reserve price in previous auctions. I think this one looks alright. I'd post an ebay link, but ....... y'know.

I think it's legit, but he must be high on yellow snow if he thinks he's gonna get 4800 dollars plus 200 for a not very special case. Ebay UK has a real nice one for 3100usd or reasonable offer.

It's a lot of money even for a stored guitar. I guess, if the seller really has put it away for 20 years, he would want to see some sort of reward. You'd have to see it first. To the right buyer, maybe it is that much better than a used one.
Yeah, I know this is not a good investment strategy. I might have been tempted in the past to stow guitars, if I'd had too much disposable income. Fortunately this has never been a problem for me.
