The guy answered my email and says he bought it new in the store. It's kinda funny that he doesn't know what year it is. The ad says late 80's or early 90's. I know if I bought a guitar new in a store, especially something as unique as a Firestorm, I would not have to muddle over which decade I bought it in.

There are more than just a few smelly bits with this ad.
I advise caution .... and lots of it.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I wonder what X thinks of it. It's too good a fake not to get the streaks accurate. Maybe this is how they started out.

I am not completely convinced it's fake, either. That is a sloppy job on the top either way.

I found this Tele on the interweb. I'm pretty sure this one's real.
Look at the messy streaks on this one. I think the ebay Strat is genuine.

The radiating pattern on the known fakes is TOO perfect.

The seller has relisted this guitar. He says it has jumbo frets. Does anyone know if these came with jumbo frets?

Dunno, but it's well worn enough to have had a re-fret.

He claims it has never been refretted and is all original. This was stated in the Q&A section on the original listing.

OK I didn't see that.
Well according to Xhefri's website, the whole range came standard with Jumbo frets.

Very interesting and good to know. Personally I don't like jumbo frets.

When I zoom in on the photos, it looks like the body has been rubbed with steel wool in a circular pattern. :?:

Yeah G'day retired, just before the angry villagers arrive with their pitchforks, do you think the ebay ultra is genuine?
