Another Fake you know what is for sale on Ebay. One of the worst fakes I have seen. New seller with only 2 ratings. Yeah right.

Yeah, since we aren't actually speaking, are you referring to a Firestorm finish? :|

BTW, who's the joker that started the nonsensical rumor that these finishes were a forbidden topic?

Yeah, the streaking technique is a little messy, although the color and depth of the clear red look authentic to me. I'm not convinced this one is fake. I'm not about to bid on it though.
It would be interesting to hear the opinion of someone who has experience with these.
Here's hoping the thread doesn't descend into anarchy.

That's the one I found. I sent the guy an email asking if the guitar had been refinished. He answered back that it was all stock. I notice my question and his answer are not published on the auction page but maybe I'm out of date and that doesn't happen anymore. I don't use eBay very often.

That's a good point actually about the e bay question and answer thing. I've asked questions that get answered but don't appear.

E bay is a bit of a mystery to me even though I have dabbled for a few years, albeit not selling much recently due to ebay changes and a couple of fools buying good stuff only to raise false accusations afterwards.

Well, if you look at the auction again it says that no questions or answers have been posted for this item. I see that word 'posted' and I make assumptions. I'd bet the option is with the auction holder whether or not to go public with questions and answers. If that's so then I think it tells you right there whether or not you can trust the auction. If everything is on the up & up the seller will openly welcome transparency as it will only encourage the bidding to go higher.

You are correct posting Q&A is up to the seller.

Look at the finish from where you would rest your arm to the bridge. Has anyone ever seen one, genuine or fake, that did not have all the streaks flow out in concentric lines? As opposed to the back cross lines on this one. I would never purchase one of these if it did not come with a written COA from Gruhn.

I look at the back and it seems much closer to the real thing but like you say, there's something seriously funky smelling about the top of that guitar. That quarter when the elbow cut is is just wrong in my eyes.

I sent the guy another email asking where he bought it. We shall see what his response is. It's entirely possible he doesn't know it's likely a re-fin.

I don't like the look of it either, and although I'm far from expert on these finishes, with only 2 feedback on this seller (as a buyer, no previous sales), I would pass on this one.
