Mayer posted on Twitter no more Fender John Mayer Sig Strat, when will Fender stop making units, and or how many more units "about" will be produced. Will Fender be able to, or will sell "Big Dipper" pickups.?. Any other JM Sig Strat info on model being discontinued is welcomed.

Thanks.

I don't think anyone can answer that question accurately unless the answer comes directly from fender.

However I would guess that the same will be said for the 'Big Dippers' as they are only for that particular Strat.

However, there isn't any magical vibe to them. They are basically a set of underwound 57/62's. There will be other pickups on the market that match up to those specs.

John's endorsement deal with Fender came into an end, his signature models (including Black1) will no longer be listed in the products page after the remaining stock in Fender's warehouse being sold out.

Well if that's the case, ChromeFace, my guess, if new production is shut down immediately, there's not many JM sig Strats sitting in a Fender warehouse, they may only have a couple dozen of each color at most that are not called for.....at most. Most companies producing in USA keep very small inventory, times are tough, no need for $$ to sit on your rack IMO. Dealers have to wait longer for fulfillment or do what factories want, force them to stock up greater on each PO to minimize fulfillment turn times.....factory wins....dealer loses.

Cheers.
