I have a Strat like that that I cannot identify. No serial, definitely mexican neck, maple but no marking on the heal. Body has no marking whatsoever either but 3 color sunburst which I think is not available on mexican strats. I upgraded to alnico PUs, deluxe bridge and replaced tuners. It sounds great but it sucks that you cannot tell the history of it. Another Partocaster...

I'll post pictures, maybe some can offer input.

Your question is not really clear; I think you said you were given a strat type guitar, it has an after market neck w/an ebony fretboard. There is a Fender logo on it and it's of the "spagetti" style without a serial number. Your question is: How do I identify this guitar; correct?
If it's not a genuine Fender neck you maybe be able to identify the body only by removing the neck and looking for markings in the neck pocket where the neck is mounted. If there is nothing there you're SOL.

Fender does not sell necks so it would have to be a copy; Fender does not provide serial numbers to aftermarket necks; even licensed necks do not get a serial number.

The Logo you have could have been provided by a decal make such as "www.joesdecals.com" If he's still in business he sells Fender decals without the circle R (copyright bug) or serial numbers.

So I'm no expert but it seems to me you have a home assembled guitar; heritage unknow-able.

8) thanks for all your replies my first post on this fender lounge feels like a family support group, like stevie used to say "soul to soul"back to my unidentified strat, sticker has no copywrite but has synchro trelo system and all the patent numbers havent took off neck to check pocket. i play it through a vintage fender twin and it sounds sweet. only thing i really dont like string height. kinda a virgin to all this been an acoustic player. so all help is appreciated to the up most
