I found some roller saddles that I will install into my 2 pivot trem to get them a try.

While at it I was thinking of swapping in a solid steel or solid brass trem block.
Has anyone done this to their Strat?
If so what changes did you notice if any?

Is solid steel or solid brass "better", or does it depend on what one is trying to get out of it?

The other question is, I found a site guitarfetish. that as both steel and brass blocks.
They come in 3 different sizes and the US one is for me.
I see that the string holes are spaced differently between US, Mexico, and import blocks and the trem hole is either centered or to the corner.
But what about the bridge to block mounting holes, are they the same or different among the different bridges and blocks?

Did some more reading and from what I read I will not get the roller saddles.
Too many people saying they kill the tone.

So I just ordered a solid brass trem block to hear what difference it might make.

I still want to replace the saddles though.
Now the question is what type of material?
There is stainless steel, brass, graphite, and I think "tusq".
Any experiences with any of those?

Also, I'm not positive what the stock saddles are made of.
Are they stainless from the factory?

I had locked my trem for over a decade and a few months ago put it back in action.
But I'm trying to get to sound better. Tuning isn't a problem as I don't dive bomb with it just some cool vibrato.
The problem is that even if I pick or finger pick a note I can hear a quivering note that's coming from the trem. I think it's because I don't have enough springs in there.
I used to use 3 black OEM springs and there are now only 2.
I think it needs at least 3 springs and maybe 4 to have enough tension to keep the trem from moving up, forward and making notes go flat and/or quiver.

If the new saddles and springs don't work then I'm going back to locking it down, which I'm sure there are different methods to that too. :)

Thanks for any help anyone can give.
