lol.

Okay so I was looking at some strats on Zzounds.

Anyway, I found this one ; http://www.fender.com/products/prod_images/guitars/0101302703_xl.jpg

Seemingly normal.

Then this one;

o_O

and this; http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/quality,85/brand,zzounds/0100102_xl-3cfd5643a9f8d865f6a544083fcb96d7.jpg

They're ALL maple.

What's the deal? Can I get a mim strat with that tan or do i have to live with an albino mim.

it's just the different white balance the camera automatically chose depending on the amount of contrast there is in the picture (although the last picture was obviously stained).

to be honest, you can't really tell what color the neck will be until you see for yourself, but i know for sure that nothing will come "albino." they'll all generally be wood colored, just some that are (not dramatically) a shade lighter or darker than another.

Neck colors will always look different depending on the type of guitar and how old it is. Older guitars generaly have a darker tint. Somewhere around the 90's, I believe, Fender went to the Satin finish. Don't sweat it. My Clapton Strat's neck is already starting to change color and it's only 7 years old.

Time and enviroment are the only things that will cause change in the color of the neck and the body color as well. Older MIMs will have a darker color. Some are made that way on purpose It depends on whether the guitar was used in a bar on a nightly basis or it sat in a case somewhere.

Also different neck colors are on different guitars.

I hope this info helps. Good luck.

My mexican standard is about 8 years old now and the neck finish has darkened up alot since new. It has a nice ambering effect that I love. It stays out of the case all the time and most of the people around it smoke, including me, so it was bound to happen. But I love mine for it.

My Am Dlx Vneck came with a very tasty amber tint, it was what initially swayed me to the Vneck. MY Am Tele has a very pale neck in comparison, almost albino looking. They both play great!
