I bought this Strat years ago with the understanding that it was a franken-Strat and need some help identifying the body.

The neck is clearly an American Deluxe from 2002-2003 according to the serial number but the neck heel is stamped either C54015 or 054015 (it's hard to tell). There is also an August 1998 stamp, I know sometimes the necks and bodies are made at different points but 4 years seems a bit different.

Is this an American Deluxe? Highway One? I'm pretty sure the finish is Midnight Wine.

I'm looking to sell the guitar so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Keir

The folks on here are good, but it'll take a bit more than one photo of a neck pocket to fathom out what it is

The Highway One series didn't have the micro tilt adjustment, so it's not a H1.

Here are a few more pictures:

Is there a chance that a body from 98 wound up with a 2002 neck from the factory? Seems unlikely. It's a nice transparent finish with some decent grain showing and has noiseless pickups and a Corona neck plate.

Thanks for all your help!

The body could be a Deluxe from that time.
The likelihood of the neck and body leaving the factory together is probably nil.

Thats what I'm starting to think.

The question is, and I know this is a dividing issue, is whether to sell it as parts or as a whole. The guitar is all quality American pieces but may not hold it's value as a whole if I sell it. Hmmmm.

I'm guessing there is no way to identify the body from the stamping.

The neck pickup cavity may just may have a barcode relating to the part number.
That again may allow you to identify the model.
The earlier pdfs show the part numbers as being the same for the deluxe and standard around that time so either a mixup or they were
I had a 95 std but never that era of deluxe
Is the bridge pop in whammy i.e. Deluxe or thread i.e. Std not that that means much since you could change the parts including the pickups... Still with that neck date a partscaster which you were told in the firstpace of course.. :D

Good advice but no indicators under the pickguard. Hmmm 1998 body/2002 neck: I guess I'll split the difference and call it a 2000 American Deluxe :)

Yep a good compromise!
Do you think the color may be chrimson transparent. Nice though.
Thinking again that number in the neck cavity is the part number I mentioned for both a deluxe and standard body in ash 0054015. It was 0054014 for alder around that time
I know that does not help any further :D
