There are also many other tonewoods usually found on boutique guitars such as Malaysian Jelutong (Mamywo), paduak and purpleheart to name a few. Charvel used Malaysian Jelutong to build a red "strathead" San Dimas for Allan Holdsworth in the early 1980s.

Jelutong is considered as a James Tyler speciality.

in my humble opinion a non veneered alder body would be good ....preferably a one piece... any gloss finnish would be ok.
