I don't know how some of you don't see the bubbles. I would return the guitar and get a different one. That would drive me nuts.

Well... your strat is not a low end squire... it's a high end Mojo Machine...
That neck should be replaced with a flawless... expertly finished, pristine maple neck.
Period...
That kind of thing is unacceptable in my book... shouldn't see that on a brand new stratocaster in that one's price range... at all... at all.... at all...

I returned the guitar... Saddly because, except from the neck, it was a really nice guitar. I don't know if I give another try to the Select series, or if I turn to the custom shop. But custom shop guitars always have vintage features, and I am not against a little modernity (such as locking mechanics)...

Thanks you all for your advices!

That's what it looks like to me also.

If that is the case and remembering the slot for the fret is about a fifth the width of the fret itself all the more reason to return it! :D

I can't believe what I'm reading in this thread. Who cares if there's bubbles in the lacquer, it doesn't affect the sound or playability in any way. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that guitar.

Unless you're planning to just hang it on the wall and never take it out on a gig of course. Yeah, if you're buying guitars to look at and polish rather then play then I can see how it could possibly offend your sensibilities.

For me... The point isn't about the "playability" issue. Yes, the guitar is totally playable... It's about quality at the price point those guitars are in(and others in that price point)... and the expected workmanship in every detail that should be present on such an instrument.

No... You should NOT see that on a guitar of that esteem. Returning the guitar IMO wasn't necessarily the way to go... I would have gone for Fender sending what I stated above...
A brand new, expertly finished, flawless and pristine maple neck to replace the one on it.

If the guitar was a standard... or perhaps a special... something like that wouldn't be an issue... but once you get into "Deluxe" territory and above.. THAT giutar... should be PERFECT in every aspect. Why... cause that's what should be expected for that kind of coin.

That's how I see it anyways

One of those "ipreferxnoy" threads

(I prefer X, no Y)

janou195 you are precisely correct in your expectations of quality workmanship on that Strat...

...for you, that is...other opinions *may* differ

What are you going to do about it besides read this thread?
