Hi,

I'm having to replace a malfunctioning truss rod USA Stratocaster neck from 1991 or 1992 (N1 serial #) and was wondering up to what year I can use? Does it have to be from that exact year or could I use later model necks?

Thanks for any insight!!!

Jerry

Welcome!

You could use later models as long as they have the four bolts.

Hi Jerry, welcome to the forum.

The neck you're replacing can be from any year Fender US or Mex with 4 bolts! That's a lot of Necks!!

There are many other makers of Necks for the Strat, some quite good.

There are literally thousands of Necks in all price ranges for you to choose from, just on ebay.

As long as it states: 2 3/16" (two and three sixteenths inch) Heel width.

It's your guitar and you decide what neck you want to put on it to play it happily.

Good Luck,

- Dan

btw, here's a great post from the forums:
