Hi.

I'd like to know how would you compare 6-screw old style tremolo bridge tuning stability of a well built custom shop Strat with 2-screw modern bridge mounted on American Standard Strat?

No difference, if the guitar is setup right.

I have both bridge styles on two guitars. Once you have a really good setup done, it's just a matter of lubrication, and technique. Both systems will stay equally in tune with proper use. If you are going to abuse the trem, then you need a Floyd Rose system.

The 2 point trem operates more smoothly than it's older six screw companion. This would give it a slight advantage in the ability of the bridge to return intune better than the six screw version, IMO. The two point trem alows more movement up and down than the six screw does.

Thanks for answers.

I'm asking because I've got American Standard 2012 Stratocaster and today I've tried to "abuse" the trem and bend down (loosening the strings) till the arm touches the scratch plate, and in that situation it usually goes out of tune, is that normal?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Yes, that's why you need a Floyd Rose locking tremolo: to avoid tuning problems caused by heavy tremolo abuse.

The only disadvantage of a Floyd Rose bridge is the major alterations you need to perform to the body and the neck for a proper installation of the assembly.

If you prefer getting rid of all those hassles get a mini Floyd Rose bridge in a mint condition with an LSR nut and a set of Fender locking tuners from eBay.

Though this product has been discontinued by Fender in 2007, the deluxe locking tremolo backplate is still available from the online store.

Honestly, the "Mini Floyd" bridge looks drastically better than a regular floyd bridge IMO. No one's really going to notice the mini from a distance.
FWIW...
I've found the Vintage 6 point and modern 2 point trems keep tune remarkbly well if the set-up is good.
Will they go out of tune? YES... if they're used very heavily... but they take a pretty good lickin'... and stay in tune nicely if set-up proper.
I prefer them to a Floyd... and I DO abuse the trem... a lot. My Strats hold very good tune and mine have the vintage 6 point trems
