Yes I've been thinking about that . Its taken about 6 months of work to get to this stage. Just makes me appreciate how much work goes into making one of these guitars and what a brilliant design it is. Its great fun to do though.

There's nothing like CAD/CAM and CNC technology to make less work for mother.

Well I see what your saying, I forgot they use them.I did watch a video where they said they had only one cnc machine.
I suppose I meant in the early days.
I know the custom shop still shapes the necks by hand. and I bet they do some body's as well even if its just at home. I think John Cruz says it takes him two weeks to make one of his guitars.
How much is a cnc machine ? lol :D

I'd be more inclined to say that the CS luthiers spend more time carefully finishing necks by hand but use a master neck to carve it on the CNC. Have you ever seen a photo of the famous peg board where all the masters for the different neck types are hung?

Yes I've decided I'm not going to use it. Its just some practice before I get my hands on some more expensive maple.

although not a player, it is a good practice run. Good job i would say. You did a really good job on the templates too.

I would say, put a cool finish on it, turn it into a wall hanger/decoration, and time to go get some materials to build yourself a player.

Excellent job, IMO.

( I didn't see the profile of the neck. Carving the back is tough. I wouldn't move on to "expensive maple" until I was confident in carving it. i don't know if you are or not, but maybe some more practice before jumping into the deep end of the pool.)

Thanks ,I'm fairly confident I can do it .I've just started in fact. Using a rasp and sandpaper which is slow going but best take me time. I'll post picture when I've finished.
Might be a day or two.

I think I have seen the Peg board .Interesting how many different shapes their are. Wood be good to try them all.
