A few months ago I posted a picture of a strat body I'd made. I've now made a neck to go with it (though not finished yet). :)
I decided to make the neck from pine as well for the first one , rather than ruin an expensive piece of maple.
I'm wondering though if it will be usable once finished.I'm a bit worried its going to warp badly or even snap once you put some string tension on it.
I've got no training at this by the way so go easy.

The body in the picture is a new one I've just started.

Nice guitar. :P

It's a 21 or a 22-fret?

You'd want to have a look at Ceri's guitar project of several years ago.

I think I found Ceri's thread, though I cound'nt see the guitars.
I could only see some wood working machines and some wood he bought from timber merchant.
Like to have a workshop one day  . At the moment had to make these jigs so I could do it all with a plunge router.

Nicely thought out but I would think pine will produce a fine banana neck.

Sorry I can't source the link for you. It's quite an extensive project in which he resurrected a burned guitar body, building a neck for it from stock. I also thought that another member had grouped the major DIY projects into one thread.

Pine fretboard, that should wear out quickly, if the frets actually stay in place, but good luck.

Yes I've decided I'm not going to use it. Its just some practice before I get my hands on some more expensive maple.

Were I you, I'd become adept at carving the back's profile as you like it before you go on to the 'more expensive maple.'
