Hello everyone!

I've a JM Signature SB with famous big dippers 8) . So I was seeing several john mayer videos on the internet (dvd's and show capture by fans). And a have some questions for you guys which a believe they are so much expert on this subject than me.

In first question it's,

- Why john Mayer doesn't use you signature with big dippers?
The SRV's guitar which john mayer use in Any Given Thursday (2002) DVD it's a
- SRV with some modification? Or just a SRV pure? Somebody told me that big dippers comes from your SRV guitar, from a wrong wire that have caused a scooped sound on the mid frequences. That it's real?
- The Monterey clone guitar used by john mayer have the same neck and pickups of Signature (with big dipper :D

Thanks a lot! I joined in this team today and I hope be more usable for you. That means 'answers' more than 'questions' =]

John uses a lot of guitars, I'm sure he likes his signature guitars but he is a bit a of Gear nut. He used to use the Black one almost exclusively, but he uses that one less and less these days.

Its a 1997 SRV strat, JM added a tortoise shell Pickguard. That is the rumor about the pickups, but more than likely thats just rumor and they are regular old Texas specials.

Nope different Neck and no Big Dippers, some sort of Custom Shop vintage style pickup.

With that said the Big dippers are nice pickups, but I wouldn't get so caught up on them, as JM doesn't really use them live. Enjoy them for what they are as they sound great IMO.
