I just pickup one of these special edition lite ash stratocaster guitars in black
I am very surprised at the quality and sound.
Anyone else have one?
I have not heard of fender making guitars in korea before.
is this guitar actually made by fender or under contract from another?

I look and played one a Bill's and I loved it. If I had the extra money
on hand I would have bought it on the spot. Played as good as the
the two american ones I played at the time. The thing weighed about
seven and a half pounds and the sound was great. And the natural
finish was beautiful. I thought what a deal.

I picked it up used but it was like new. $400 for the guitar and a small traynor guitarmate 20 amp .....also new.
the person bought it but never really used it, playing guitar was not for them.
my gain for sure.
the all black setup looks great.
the sd pickups sound super.

I will sell the amp as I have a nice marshall that this guitar sounds super through.

I did not like the pickups, but the rest of the guitar is built with quality similar to American Strats. The trem block is brass and high mass. The neck is a beautiful birdseye maple. The body is a beautiful natural finished ash. Plays like butter!

Hello Atkinsg,

Every one that I've seen has
a nicely figured neck, looked
great on the natural body.

Cheers.

I am really happy with mine as well. I have the black one.

I have had a couple of MIM and some mid 80s MIA strats and this one is much better than the MIM ones I have had, especially the neck finishing.
it really does rival the quality of the american stats I have had.
quite impressive and the price is great.

I wonder how long they will be selling them or are they limited in run?

does anyone know anything about the factory where they are made?
is it a fender or a special 3rd party contract run of these special type fenders?
