I went on a 2 year spree with a G&L ASAT Classic. Excellent guitar and my first ever venture into Tele-Land.

Up until then it had been my Strat for decades with occasional visits back to my LP.

Strat's technique is so different from a Tele…so I really had to woodshed it. But I liked the results.

I brought the G&L into the shop, recently, and played nothing but the Strat while it was gone. G&L, sweet as it is, has stayed in the case ever since I got it back.

Not saying anything's "better"…but Strat rules, in my world. Everything the Tele players say bugs them (volume knob close to strings, lower action/frets, floating bridge, thin neck) is what I love about that guitar. I've got a '57 AVRI with the original pups and it's flat out beautiful.

I started on a Tele back in '62 - these days I like and use both Strats and Teles along with a few others.

I've been getting rid of a lot of guitars in order to consolidate down to a few good ones. The Strat, Les Paul, and the Gretsch 6120. If like to get my hands on a cabronita tele to complete my ace in the hole group. I used to like having as many as I could get but now I just want 1 of each to be able to make all the sounds I need.

For me it's about the difference in feel. I love the Tele sound, but like the way my '57 AVRI feels and plays better. Maybe I need to try some different Tele necks. I'm also into the 2 and 4 positions on the Strat.

I'm sure I'll eventually come back to the G&L. I'm just real happy to be reunited with my Strat.
