Customer support should be able to tell you what the guitar should be by the serial number.

Telephone: (480) 596-7195
E-mail: consumerrelations@fender.com

The neck and hardware look to be genuine, but the body could be from A.N. Other or it's been stripped back and refinished.
I don't have any recollection of Strats coming with that finish in 2011/2012, but that doesn't mean that they didn't.

The neck and electronics look authentic!!! Not sure about the body!!! It's either a non-Fender body or someone's stripped the finish and done a bad job of staining it!!!

I wouldn't buy anything from a seller who punctuates every sentence with three exclamation marks!!!

I agree - it kind of looks like a bad refinish with some kind of stain. The ad is way over the top!!!

By the way for those of you outside the USA Fender is closed today for the Labor Day holiday.

I don't trust that finish either. Looks like a bad strip and stain. Somebody regrets their decision and wants to dump the guitar.

NOT PERFECT FOR A COLLECTOR!!!

Buying this refinished guitar would be a mistake.

What the heck is that finish supposed to be?

A real train wreck.

Ah, I can see what happened. The guy was creosoting his fence and forgot he'd leant his Strat against it. Not paying attention to what he's doing; next thing you know - oops! - a creosoted guitar. Don't you hate it when that happens?

BTW. Look at those saddle screws. Probably that just means the previous owner has no idea how to set up a Strat. But it might mean he's done disastrous damage during his adventures in refinishing and now the action can't be set without the saddles run as low as they'll go. That's going to hurt the palm of someone's picking hand...

Cheers - C

True it can happen to anyone.......... i was putting Thompsons water seal on some new fence panels last weekend and accidentally water sealed some grass
Its gone from green to brown much like that guitar.

Youv'e heard of the blues now he's got a case of the browns!
