I saw this "2003 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster" ad on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Fender-Eri ... RTM1562569

So I'm guessing that it was repainted at some point. The selling claims it as all original. Hmm...

It all looks good until you get to the GREEN

Maybe it's his camera and/or editing.

It is a rare color, also called 7up green, which was offered for a while on Clapton models.

Greens and Red are the hardest colors to get true with a camera. Even when you look at the maple on the neck, it has a green hue to it. It should be a tad darker than what the picts indicate.

There is one on Craig's list here. It's been on there for awhile now.

I'm very familiar with Candy Green (also known as, "7up Green") and that, umm, is not Candy Green. There is way too much yellow in that green, and there isn't any metal flake. I've seen lots of Candy Green Clapton Strats, to include mine, and that is not Candy Green.

You can see mine in the following thread.

I agree Paris, I was thinking it was a flash and a poor picture. Way darker than this. If it is not a photographic issue, then what do you think is going on with this guitar? By the chip on the back it looks like a blackie that has been "refinished." ummmmm :?

Is this the same guitar? http://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/forum/ForSale/acapella-81/1967264-

No. The one in your link is authentic. You can tell from the color and the metal flake reflecting the light.

The one in my link is either a refinish or an aftermarket body. Here's the link to Warmoth's website with an example of a green Strat body like the one in the ad.
