Hi all,

Long time reader, post only ocassionally... Just wanted to share pics of my new guitar; I picked it up at Seattle Guitar Center recently.

Based on information from the internet, and email dialogue with Ishibashi, it's a 2006 to 2008 ST-54 DMC strat.

Pickups are not original, as you can see in the pics. It's neck is stamped ST-54 DMC, which indicates DiMarzio Collection, but there are no names on pickup covers.

These are do not have bar magnets on the bottom either, as some pics on the net show:

What ARE in it, have cloth-covered wires, and they appear to be standard single coils (of unknown origin).

Also of note: is a stamp of the number '10' in the neck pickup route.

Great playing, hard v-neck, I like it a lot. Just thought I'd share.

If you have any info to contribute, I welcome it! Especially anything about the number stamped in the body...

It is a good lookin' guitar, Nice grain and 2TSB.

The body and neck seem real enough (CIJ) to me.

The electronics, cloth covered wire, CTS pots, 5 way switch & pups all look USA to me.

Kinda looks like a loaded US pick guard on a nice CIJ guitar.

Those are the modifications I would have made. :D

I've always liked a thick single ply white guard.

Oh, that's a beauty.

Are you thinking that the "10" is a grade for the wood grain of that body? How many pieces to that body?

(I've had good business with Ishibashi. +1)

@ orvilleowner: have no clue what the '10' is for! ☺ looks to be a two-piece body though. Mr. Hiroaki at Ishibashi has been very responsive to my email inquiries...

Judging the DMC initials the pickups are DiMarzio Collections.

Apparently, when you're richer than Midas and more popular than 99% of the musicians who have ever lived, you can be as Scruffy as you like! :D

@ isdi: I had not considered 57/62, because of the hum cancel in positions 2 & 4... I guess the pickups could be from one of the Hot Rod 62 or CP50 guitars...

The studs bevelled storied, son of one color, it reminds me of the 57/62 pick-ups!
But others have reproduced.
I like the 57/62!
Anyway, good acquisition with a flawless finish.
I envy you!
