It does but it just say that it is one of the 1954 made.
Maybe it says what number in the serial no.

Contact customer support if it really matters that much. It wouldn't be one of the "1st 54"; those came with a different neck plate. Even if it were one of the said plates, it is likely that an employee would simply grab a random plate out of a box of plates. They have no reason to care that the actual 53rd plate goes to the 53rd guitar off the line.

Is the serial number on the tremolo backplate as they are for the original production guitars?

They switched to putting the serial number on the neckplate, and there's no correlation between the serial number and the actual number the guitar was off the production line - some things don't change, eh?

David Gilmour has 0001, but it's not the first one off the line.

It doesnt really matter I just thought it would be cool if you
could see it anywhere on the guitar.

Thank you!

It should be on the neck plate.

Sure here's a pic, it's my first Fender but surely not the last.
Love everything about it. The only thing is that I tend to hit the toggle switch when playing but im sure that i'll get used to it.

The first 54 have " 1st of 54" neck plate. The AV V..... number doesn't tell anything on what number out of 1954.

OK as promised, what a nice guitar you have  Seriously it is a looker and I had the same issue with the toggle switch when I got my strat but I did get use to it, still once in a while when I am getting into it pretty hard I will hit the toggle, and snap me back to reality
