I've been looking for a reasonably priced 57 reissue and found this listing. I'm probably wrong, but I didn't think there were MIM 57 reissues. I thought maybe this was a Classic Players 50s but the bridge is wrong. Plus this guitar looks like a 3-color burst instead of 2. And I've never seen a birdseye neck on a RI like that. Basically I'm thinking that the store might have just mis-labeled the guitar, or maybe this is some sort of partscaster, but maybe there were actual 57 reissues MIM in the early 2000s? Basically any help figuring out what I am looking at would be really appreciated. https://reverb.com/item/132881-fender-5 ... neck-7-lbs

The guitar looks to be what it's claimed to be!

I can't see any third colour in the sunburst though! 8)

People tend to call the MIM models a "57 Reissue" but technically they are the "Classic 50s Strat" model as they don't try to be period-accurate to a year, they are just generically shaped like a '50s Strat. I believe that MIM production of these did start in the late 1990s (maybe 1998?) but they definitely were MIM by 2000.

+1 John C, no such thing as a MIM RI.

"Classic Series '50s" are very nice guitars, no need to embellish and call it something that it isn't.

Even though a fine guitar, I wouldn't buy from them just because they can't get the name correct. It is beyond annoying. :x
