They're good pups. Fender wouldn't put cheapies in their flagship model. Why don't you play a few and listen for yourself? That's the best way to find out.

Hello Invincible1214,

My 2008 has em and I'm happy with,
I will not replace as they have the sound
I want from them. I'm not really much
of a pickup changer but I do move the
guitars around. Best of luck.

Cheers.

PUPS are very nice, but I replaced the neck pup with a texas special (love that sound).

If you are talking about the 2008 standard pickups they are great. The neck pickup IMO sounds really sweat and you can get a really nice tone out of it. If you flick the switch one step back to the bridge to the neck/bridge pup then now we're talking. It has a really nice smooth tone ,hard to describe, it isn't as clear as the neck but I like it alot. When I play with my band I use the bridge pup witch works perfect for my music and dose not get all mushy. I love it!!

You need a seven way pickup selector switch to do that.
...I think Jacobthebluesman was refering to the Middle pickup as the Bridge/Neck pup.

I play two 2004 American Standards with stock pick-ups. I think they are just fine and have no plans to change a thing. :D
