[img]http://s133.photobucket.com/user/nikyniceguy/media/2.jpg.html?filters=34213386&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=1[/img]Last night I finally bought my first Fender. I bought what I was told was a 2011 American Standard for $800. But all my research is telling me its a Highway 1. Which would be fine with me if that's what I was told it was and I paid much less for it. I hope I'm wrong. Can anyone help me please. It has the big head stock, and the tremolo with the six screws.

The photo from your post - you only need to click the box marked IMG on photobucket then paste that straight in to a reply.

Hey Nicolo,

Welcome to the forums. :D

Just noticed Frank de-posted me! Strat-Tele too!!

I'll post the rest of those pics for you.

post pics: click Img above, copy Direct link on Photobucket, then paste on the forum post. try it and use preview, you can cancel your practice posts.

I browse/shop at GC in Paramus too. Usually playing expensive guitars I won't buy and begging boxes.

Obviously you can return that Git for misrepresentation. That last pic you might want to delete or alter, ya know? 8)

Here are some Fender Service diagrams for "proof":

I spoke with Guitar Center and they confirmed that its not a Standard but an American Special they mistakenly labeled. They offered me a $200 refund or I can return it and get all my money back.

Thanks for everyones help with this.

I pretty sure the folks at Guitar Center shudder when the hear the phrase "the guys over on the Fender forum tell me that it's a such and such model and not a ........." 8)

Cool for you....however I'd be worried either of their incompetence either of their fraud.
I would not buy a thing there...an experienced guitar seller can't think this is an AM. Standard when he gave it to you.

A year and a half ago I bought a Gibson 335 figured Dot for 1900 bucks new because they had it mis labelled as a satin 335 which is 1000 dollars cheaper. They were kind enough to allow me to use my 15 percent off discount too. I knew exactly what I was getting , but evidently they did not. Not always a bad thing. Not the first time it has happened to me. You just have to know the product .
