So did I! lol. He must just copy and paste the same thing to everyone who has contacted him... sounds like he's suffering from "head in the sand" syndrome.
What I don't understand is this; why is this listing still on eBay? It appears Jeff Bielke must have contacted maget0 because his name has been removed from the ad but the covering letter with Fender's details is still there. Why isn't eBay listening to us and removing the listing?

It is gone. I have to admit that I learned a lot from this thread. I did not know these finishes were even out there untill all this mess started. They are cool, I wish Fender would bring them back, I wonder why they were discontinued? I would bet it had something to do with cost.

Let's not celebrate just yet! eBay is having worldwide technical difficulties (see BBC news - http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-29054972)
maget0's listing has dropped off my watchlist but so have many other items I was watching and my entire 'sold' history has also vanished. Now it won't even let me sign in! Hmmm.

I can log into eBay and see all the other guitars I am watching, BUT HIS IS GONE, so I do not think this is part of the eBay glitch! A while back I had a long talk with an eBay rep who took notes and also URL link this thread—in fact he was reading it while I was talking to him on the phone. He said he would pass all this info on to his supervisor. Of course the guy was in the Philippines, and we got to talking I told him that I have an office in the Philippines, so we hit it off. He said something would be done and I will get an email in a few days. Not seen the email yet. But after the last few inflammatory emails from Maget0 I was glad to see it go. I mean the guy would call and email Fender and Gruhn and talk about taking the guitar to Pawn Stars, but would not simply click on the link to this Fender Thread and take a read? Crazy!

Is it bad that this thread makes me kinda want to try do one of these finishes?

This is good because these should not be sold as a "genuine" Fender Firestorm Strat.

Do it on an Ibanez. That'll confuse the archeologists! :D

Well to help you out, check out this Fender Firestorm guitar. It looks like an Ibanez!!!! Fender made these like two years around the same time the other ones were produced (1990-1991). This is a Heavy Metal Strat, with Lace sensors like an Ultra in a Firestorm finish (real deal) with all the HM appointments! So yes, all of us archeologists will be baffled!!!

Ok here is some more clear cut evidence in case anyone is really still doubting. Here is a picture of the FAKE Firestorm that has been stripped. Please note the White base coat, followed by the Red color coat in which black stripes are airbrushed on then clear coated:

Now look at this damaged REAL Firestorm. You can see how Fender applied some sort of silverish material with black streaks in it, then sprayed with a Candy type transparent Red color coat, which then is clear coated. Way different process than the guitars painted by Rod Essex.
