Ok Ok I know these types of post are nothing new. But I want to hear the Forums Opinion.

There is always debate on which strat model sounds the best etc. Maple vs. Rosewood, 68 CS PU vs. Tex Mex. Lets try a simpler debate.

The Strat body style is timeless, it just looks bad $@!

But what color scheme? Past, Present.....What about color? What is the Best looking Strat ever?

You know my 1st guitar teacher wasn't that great of a teacher, but I did latch on to 2 things he said and still believe them to this day.

1) Never trust a guitar player who HASN'T gone through a Jimi or Stevie phase.

2) Every player who really falls in love with the guitar owes it to themselves to get a Fender Sunburst Strat.

I have to agree IMO the 3 tone Sunburst with a rosewood fretboard is the best looking Strat

If we're talking any strat, I love the paint scheme of the Monterey Pop strat.

But if we're just talking production color combinations, I just love the classic black with a vintage maple neck and W/B/W 3 ply pickguard.

The first strat I ever saw that just made my mouth water was the cream color/olympic white with the white pickguard, white hardware and the maple neck.

It's still my favorite color scheme.

The three tone sunbursts are nice looking, but I've never been interested in that version because they're so common. The one I've fallen in love with, is the new Sienna Sunburst color. Only bad thing, the guitar model I just bought did not offer that color. I ended up with the Chrome Sliver with black pearloid pickguard combination, which I like very much.

I've never gone for color first, anyway. I've picked the guitar model that I like......then select from the colors offered for that model. The guitar is more important to me than the color.

Probably overall........my favorite color for the guitar is no color at all. I've always seemed to like the "natural" guitar bodies the best. Especially if it has good grain.

So I guess, after all this typing, my favorite comes down to the natural finish.

I completely agree with you. I love the looks of the Monterey Strat. Also, I'd add an all white combination to my list. (White body, pickguard, and maple neck)
