At best it's a MIJ Strat.
It is NOT a Gilmour Strat.
The heel of the neck should have a transfer with Made In Japan on it, but in this case it has been removed to decieve a potential buyer.

The book might be the real deal ;)

Gotoh machine heads - Fender Japan. Gotoh branded machines only appeared on Japanese built Fenders.
These look to be original fit, so it's a Fender Japan guitar. Could even be a Japanese Squier with a dodgy Fender transfer.

The strings trees are the current ones in use on the American Standard. They're very easy to get hold of, and not expensive either.
I fitted some to my MiM Strat recently.

If you can get the guitar apart my bet is you'll see STnnn somewhere on the body, and you'll find something similar stamped onto the butt end of the neck.

The guitar is not MiA, but that's not to say it's a bad instrument - if it is MiJ then it'll be a decent and well built guitar - just look to pay at least half of its current asking price if not less.
If the seller will not take the guitar apart in front of you then you should walk away.

No, the serial is an MIJ one. The only USA Strat that had a "G" serial number was "The Strat", which was made between mid-1980 and early 1983. This clearly isn't one of them; it's the MIJ "G" serial number that was made between 1987-88. It looks like someone added the "Made In USA" decal to it.

Or was the "Made In Japan" on the headstock on these? Either way, it was removed and replaced by a "Made In USA" decal.
