Is there any actual way of getting one of these? I've been searching alot and i just cant find them.

I've seen the "straight" fender tremolo arms that is all steel or chrome but they're just like a stick. There are no tip on them.

If you have a local machinist/machine shop give them a try. A good machinist will make one out of any material.

Hi Feelyfeels: I think Fender's no-tip trem arms are usually model-related - the nude arms on the American Deluxe Strats, for instance. But those are pop-in arms and therefore don't have the thread on the other end you'd need to fit them to a Standard or American Standard Strat.

There are an awful lot of aftermarket trem arms out there, including many tipless ones. Finding the one that will fit your guitar is about matching the arm diameter and the screw thread, which can sometimes be tricky because sellers are not always as clear on that info as you need.

You haven't told us which model your Strat is, so I can't do your searching for you. But just as a for-instance, take a look at the arm bottom left on this page:

http://guitarpartsresource.com/trem_aft ... tstrat.htm

That's a perfect example of how difficult this can be, because the title says "5.5 mm chrome", whereas the info below says "5 mm". I have a feeling that arm might be the one you want. But you'd need to email them with precise questions to be sure.

Or keep searching the popular aftermarket sellers - WD Music, AllParts, Stew-Mac and the rest. Have a Google: there are lots of guitar parts sellers out there.

Good luck - C

[A few minutes later] or on reflection, perhaps it's not a tipless arm you're after but just a chrome finish arm tip? Did you buy one of those chrome knob sets and find it didn't include the trem tip?

Try this:

That what you need?

Cheers - C

I wouldn't buy a "chrome plastic" anything. That's probably just going to look and feel very cheap and nasty.

The only genuine Fender all-chrome trem arms I can think of are from the much maligned Freeflyte tremolos, I have one of these on my 1983 Strat. The Freeflyte is even more useless to me than the original Fender trem systems but unfortunately this classy looking trem arm won't fit anything else.

I agree: chrome-look plastic is always a bit unsatisfactory. Wammiworld.com used to sell some beautiful chromed solid brass Strat-style knobs with a most appealing knurled grip area on the side. They were stupidly expensive - and now they don't seem to be available anymore, and I can't find them anywhere else. And the problem always was that you couldn't get matching switch and arm tips, which kinda compromised the thing.

Still, I'm wondering if Feelyfeels has bought one of these knob sets, and then discovered that for some odd reason they never include the arm tip:

In that case, his options are limited. I think the one I linked to above is the only separately available chrome-on-plastic arm tip, though I'd be pleased if someone can find others.

Alternatively, there's this:

http://www.wammiworld.com/p5362.php

Those are very expensive for what they are - and I can't tell from the pic and info whether the thread would fit a Fender screw-in arm bridge block.

There's also this:

http://www.wdmusic.com/deluxe_tremolo_arm_chrome.html

They call that a "deluxe" arm, but it visibly is not a Fender Deluxe Strat arm, and again I can't tell from the fuzzy photo whether that's a screw thread on the end or not, and if it is, what size.

And neither of those two arms' tips are quite the same shape as Fender's, which may or may not worry us.

These kinds of problems often raise more questions than they answer! But perhaps Feelyfeels' solution is in there somewhere.

Cheers - C

Sorry for my absence! Hasnt been on here for a while.

I was not going for flashy looks on this "upgrade", but pure functionality.

If you do harmonics and let go of the neck and just grab the plastic tip on the trem arm, you're getting that lovely strat buzz. And if i would get a trem arm tip that would connect with the steel of the arm, i wouldnt have buzz - right?.

I have a old fashion strat trem, nothing fancy!
Have been talking to one of our local machinist and he thought it would be no problem to make one for me.

The picture GilgaFrank posted is what i am looking for! The tip need to be in the same material as the arm itself.

Also, it's wierd Fender doesnt produce and sell a chrome tip for people to use when Fenders' Lenny Replica guitar clearly has a chrome tip on it's trem.
