hello from the north, its grim up here but not now ive got my new guitar!!
im thinking its an vintage re issue put together using different neck/body and hardware from the corona plant between 2000-2002. the neck maybe off a 57 re issue, the body a 62 re issue, it has a mint green pickguard, kluson style tuners and lace sensor pups (holly grails) which were added on. also has a serial number on neck plate v******.
the neck looks true to me but carnt be sure about the body, any help would be great...
thanks.

The body to me looks like a Mexi reissue cut and someone made it into more of a USA replica by drilling the extra holes in the neck pocket and repaint.

The neck does appear to be USA. The pots are CTS. Not much more I can tell from the pics.

I can't however be 100% sure as anything could have been "modded".

yes i agree about the neck, the body routings for bridge pickup with that channel looklike avri to me, i will deffinately look into the mexican re issue specs, it was sold as an american reissue body from a trusty source but you never know untill you look under the hood...thanks for your comments, much appreciated mate..

No problem. I went and looked at some other USA reissue bodies and take back what I said. I noticed some of the 50s have the route like that so that very well could be a USA 50s...maybe a 56? However those extra holes in the neck pocket would normally be found on an original, not a reissue. That is not necessarily suspect to anything then perhaps a refin done authentic to how Fender did it back in the 50s.

The body is a '62 AVRI or 60's MIM Classic Series Strat -- it has the "shoulder" at the lower edge of the control cavity for the extra pickguard screw.

Good eye. I was so busy studying the worm route below the bridge pup that I failed to notice the shoulder. The routes do appear very similar to a MIM classic 60s body I have. However some USA's have a similar worm route so the best way to tell would be by the stampings that should be on the body if it is a USA however it appears to be a refin and all that would be covered. There are some stampings in the neck pocket that seem to be USA-esk but that is not always 100% confirmation and they are very difficult to make out.

the neck is MIJ 50s reissue or MiM, the body is also a 60s.

Not MIJ......the Fuji-Gen re-issue Strats have the string tree correctly located as per a vintage instrument.

If it is good then all the rest does not really matter on a keeper. I am always curious to figure out exactly what I have but with Fenders it is not always possible and even Fender themselves will either give you an ambiguous answer or a straight out "we don't know". But if it is really good, then that is irrefutable when it is played.

If for the most part it is authentic the "v" serial number plates are often impossible to decipher much from other then it is a USA vintage series.
