Ah! Original Poster. Although it is also the beloved little boy, played by a young Ron Howard, on the Andy Griffith show.

I thought that was Oppie, but since I've never known anyone with that name, who knows?

Since this thread is lacking pictures, here's one of my Clapton. Let's see yours! :)

The Daphne Blue is beautiful, nice guitar.

So is Paris' Green (is that Sherwood?):

Image

BTW Paris, you have a pic of a beautiful, two tone burst Strat with dark tinted maple neck and white pearloid pickguard, is that a modded Deluxe?

Shoot, I mean this one:

I'm GASsing for a Clapton more than ever. Love a soft "V" Neck and the slimmer Clapton version is very, very nice.

Opie has done well for himself as a grownup! :D

To display a pic from Photobucket, click the "Img" above, then in Photobucket, copy the "Direct" link, then return here and paste it between the two "" in the body of your copy.

Thanks for all of your great comments. The Clapton Strat is Candy Green, a color that was only used for the Clapton Strat, and has since been discontinued.

The 2-color-sunburst Strat is a 2004 50th Anniversary American Series Strat I purchased brand new in Nashville, TN. The guitar came with a tweed case with gold plush lining, and a commemorative patch own into the top of the case.

The guitar also came with a light ash body, Custom Shop '54 pickups, a commemorative neck plate, and single-ply partchment pickguard. The pickguard turn dark tan, so I swappred it out (I have since put back the original pickguard). It's a really great playing guitar that was only made in 2004. It was Fender's 3rd tear Anniversary Strat, just below the Strat Deluxe.

Interesting thing about that guitar, I just traded it for a '75 Strat in 3-color-sunburst with rosewood finger board. If you can get to Washington, D.C., you can buy it at Atomic Music.

The EC Strats are great! I to love the soft V neck shape and while mine is not as pretty as the Daphne Blue or 7Up Green...the Anthracite (Pewter) is a classy color and does carry the autograph of the man himself.

You'll have to enjoy mine until the OP gets the photo thing down.

As a matter of fact I'll be in Arlington, VA on Aug. 9th & 10th for my grandson's 3rd Birthday.

Love the look of it but I'm not buying at this time. Nothing says I can't try them out.

I've got one of those 2004 USA Deluxe Strats that wouldn't sell on the big 3, so I'm parting it out. Sacrilege! But that's the market right now.

While you are in the area, and if have time, check out Atomic Music, 11011 Baltimore Ave, Beltsville, MD 20705, and Action Music, 212 N West St, Falls Church, VA 22046.

Atomic Music is like a great big pawn shop for musical instruments and Action Music has a lot of vintage instruments.

I might slip away, although time is short this visit, and check out nearby Action Music. On this trip Atomic music is going to be too difficult to fit in.

Thanks for the interesting tips.

My original intent was to comment that the daphne blue is just mind-blowingly beautiful, but now I think the same about the green Strat as well (so are the others, but the blue and green just "got to me").

Time for a new Strat...

Quite a large bill!

We, otoh, had expected you to find SOME way to post pics. This is a lot like $@!&#* Jacks with no prize in the box! So we show off our own prizes.

apparently $@!&#*, you know the word before jacks in the candy popcorn & nuts box, is a forbidden word. Who knew?

My 2014 EC Strat in pewter. I've had it for about 3 months now. I'm still tinkering with the tremolo to get it right where I want it, but I'm in love with the soft V neck. It's comfortable for lots of playing and bending. I really like the versatility of the mid-boost and TBX circuits. I'll probably change the stock strings over to Elixir, which I'm changing all my gits over too. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Candy Green and Pewter were initially offered as standard colour options for the Elite Stratocaster in the 1980s. Clapton just picked the finishes for his signature guitar along with Torino Red.

Candy Green was dropped from the colour chart upon his own request - joining Matched 2-Colour Sunburst and Taos Turquoise (pictured) in the list of "unauthorized" finishes which also includes Daphne Blue, Antigua Burst and EC Grey.
