Lots of great examples on that show of "rare" crap that isn't worth squat.

One mans trash is another mans treasure. What "value" means if the most someone is willing to pay regardless of what it is or the reasons. Rare tends to be worth more then common which is why people pay so much for art, old albums, gold, diamonds, jewelry, and certain instruments. There are people who buy jesus toast...I guess it would not bring as much if eveyones toast popped up with the image of Jesus on it

Judging by some of your comments I assume you are not in the antique or vintage instrument collecting business?

Dude, we're discussing a Standard Strat. If you think that it is valuable, then get it, it was returned and you can pick it up for $100 less than the OP paid. You don't seem to understand that rare doesn't always equal valuable, as is the case here.

Why don't you show us your rare and valuable collection of....anything.

Dude I know it is a standard strat and I also agree it was overpriced. However it was only produced like that for one year where they made the Mexican standard in the USA (or "built" to standard specs). So yes, I do believe it will increase in value and know for a fact it is worth more then a typical MIM. I also specifically mentioned it will take more then 20 years to do so. Do you think anyone who bought a standard strat in the 60's, 70s or 80s ever thought they would be worth what they are now?...much less if it was a rare edition or transitional model? Be real. It is not my fault you have no sense of what collectability means.

As far as what I have that is valuable I am not going to go to the vault just to take pictures of everything I own that is rare and valuable for you but I can post some of what I am working on now as far as instrumental and you tell me what the value of everything is vs what I paid.... or if you can even begin to properly identify any of it. Or maybe it is all a "crap" in the toilet to you?
